Working Cat Program

Itty Bitty Kitty Committee’s Working Cat Program places feral and non‑socialized cats into safe outdoor environments such as wineries, vineyards, barns, and agricultural or storage facilities. These cats are not pets and are not suited for handling or interaction. Instead, they thrive living independently while helping deter rodents through their natural presence and territorial behavior. All working cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and medically prepared prior to placement.

Acclimation & Care Requirements

All placements require a mandatory 4‑week acclimation period in a secure structure such as a barn, shed, or storage area. During this time, caretakers must provide daily food, fresh water, and shelter. Itty Bitty Kitty Committee will provide the necessary supplies and work with you to help set up an appropriate acclimation space to ensure the cats’ safety and success. This confinement period is critical so cats learn that the property is their new home and remain onsite once released.

Caretakers must use poison‑free pest control methods and understand that working cats may be rarely seen and are not guaranteed hunters. If you can meet these requirements and are interested in hosting working cats, please complete the contact form linked below and our team will follow up.
